Buzzard Run plays at Boren Center Friday night, March 29th 7:00pm

Thayer, Mo. — Buzzard Run, a bluegrass band that has played the last three years at Silver Dollar City in Branson, will open the Oregon County Music Theater season at 7p.m. here Friday, Sept. 7.
Buzzard Run is a bluegrass lovers band. They have been together for the last 15 years and play such venues as blue grass festivals, National Park Service events, and Silver Dollar City.
Group fiddle player Bernard Allen told us they will open with “Soldier’s Joy,” play traditional bluegrass in both the Flat and Scruggs style and the frailing style of Grandpa Jones, with salutes to  the Stanley Brothers and Bill Monroe. He said they like to take requests and encourage their audience to “just yell it out”. He also said that the traditional favorite “Mountain Dew” will be on their song list.
Looking at the band make up there are five members who include Allen, fiddle, mandolin and vocals, from Naylor, Mo.; Xan Graves, mandolin and vocals, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Ed Hagan, rhythm and lead guitar of Doniphan, Mo.; Brenda Allen, upright bass and vocals, Naylor; and David Kimbrough, on banjo, from Naylor.
Besides his musical talents, Allen fashions musical instruments and is a luthier. In making his instruments Allen said he uses maples native to the U. S. such as Red, Birdseye, and Fiddleback because of their high quality sound and appearance. He exhibits his handmade instruments and also demonstrates the fiddle making process.
